Icomm’s technical knowledge has been crucial in ensuring a smooth transition from the old systems to the new.
Midlands based IT service and support specialist, Icomm Technologies, has signed an installation deal with the National Association of Schoolmasters Union of Women Teachers (NASUWT), on the back of its most successful year ever.
In a deal currently worth over £80,000, and with future projects already in the pipeline, Icomm has been asked to upgrade NASUWT’S national IT network, including the union’s head office in Rednall, Birmingham.
Icomm, recently awarded Gold Certified Partner status by industry giant Microsoft, is in the process of overhauling the NASUWT’s IT infrastructure, a task that involves the installation of over 100 HP desktops, as well as transfer of data and software from existing computers.
By outsourcing the project to a third party provider, the NASUWT has generated extensive time and money savings, and plans to use Icomm – the Deloitte and Touche ‘Rising Star’ – for further system upgrades later in the year.
Reaction
Leigh Smith, NASUWT Head of IT said: “We identified the need to update our legacy systems to coincide with our own internal growth, as our existing network was getting quite tired and taking a long time to upload. We originally approached Icomm Technologies in the middle of last year, and have been delighted to work with them in the implementation of this project. From the original concept to the ultimate installation, Icomm’s technical knowledge has been crucial in ensuring a smooth transition from the old systems to the new”.
“We will be performing another infrastructure upgrade later in the year, and I am in no doubt that Icomm will once again provide a faultless service”.
Icomm Technologies Sales Manager, Ian Callens, added: “This new contract is a great win for us and comes on the back of our most successful 12 month period to date, during which we posted a year-on-year growth of 31%”.
